Applications
▪ HY103 is a high performance water soluble polyalkylene glycol basestock with a viscosity of 19 mm2/s at 40 °C.
▪ HY103 finds extensive application when manufacturing and formulat-ing various water soluble lubricants for example gear, bearing and calender lubricants, compressor lubricants and metal working fluids.
▪ HY103 is particularly suited as a textile lubricant. It provides antistatic protection to most synthetic fibres as well as effectively dissipating static charges.HY103 will not stain or discolor fibres and is completely removed during convetional scouring. The low volatility, high smoke point and minimal accumulation of residue on heater surfaces make HY103 particularly useful in texturizing polyester and polyamide filament yarns.
Storage
▪ HY103 should be kept tightly sealed in a dry place in its tightly sealed original packaging. Storerooms must not be overheated.
▪ HY103 is hygroscopic with the result of absorbing moisture very quickly. Care needs to be taken to exclude moisture. Drums must be resealed each time they are opened.
▪ HY103 must be blanketed with nitrogen if stored in heated tanks (at < 60 °C) to prevent from coming into contact with air. Constant, gentle stirring helps to prevent discoloration as a result of prolonged contact with electrical elements or external heating coils.
Shelf life:Provided it is stored properly and the drums are kept tightly sealed, HY103 has a shelf life of five years in its original packaging.
